USB DVB-T Stick af-9005

Installing this piece of hardware was fairly easy. After looking at four or so web pages, I found everything I needed. I only had to download the firmware and scan for channels to put them in a config file for Totem.

Activating the device

If it wasn't for the channel configuration file, the stick would be good to go by now. If you happen to live in Vienna, you can use my configuration:

ORF1:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1010:1011:10101
ORF2 W:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1020:1021:10102
ATV:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1040:1041:10120
ORF2 N:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1020:1021:10122

For other locations (or for the case, that more channels become available), the configuration file can be created:

sudo apt-get install dvb-utils
scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/at-Official > ~/.gstreamer-0.10/dvb-channels.conf
