Installing this piece of hardware was fairly easy. After looking at four or so web pages, I found everything I needed. I only had to download the firmware and scan for channels to put them in a config file for Totem.
af9005.fw
) to /lib/firmware/
If it wasn't for the channel configuration file, the stick would be good to go by now. If you happen to live in Vienna, you can use my configuration:
ORF1:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1010:1011:10101 ORF2 W:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1020:1021:10102 ATV:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1040:1041:10120 ORF2 N:498000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ:FEC_3_4:FEC_3_4:QAM_16:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD_INTERVAL_1_4:HIERARCHY_NONE:1020:1021:10122
For other locations (or for the case, that more channels become available), the configuration file can be created:
sudo apt-get install dvb-utils scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/at-Official > ~/.gstreamer-0.10/dvb-channels.conf
